Our motto sums it all up. We as Veterans and family members need to rely on each other to get through the civilian world. The stresses we face are different than our civilian counterparts, many outsiders do not understand the trials we face or just don't care. How do you explain away the nightmares, PTSD, physical and mental anguish that have become a part of our day to day reality. The truth is we can't. At least not to non-Veterans. But we can rely on each other through a system of mutual support. Many of us are on various stages of recovering from our wars, it is these different stages which allow us relate to someone who is going through that pass at that particular time and gives us the opportunity to say "Here brother/ sister, take MY hand, I'll help guide you". We are all in a varying degrees of learning, and it is our goal to help get us through it together. We are veterans and we are our brother's keepers.
